The Pietarsaari Jakobstad region has a strong global export market and our companies have an annual export value ~ 2 billion €, we are almost 50 000 inhabitants, over 6 500 companies and more than 22 000 workplaces in a diversified field of enterprises. We’ve got both urban and rural living and you are never more than half an hour commuting-distance from services as well as having nature and the archipelago always nearby. Quality of life in a nutshell!
We are a bilingual part of Finland and inhabitants here speaking both Swedish and Finnish, and thanks to our export companies a lot of other languages is spoken, too. Here is a link to the larger companies for finding jobs or possibilities for open applications.
In the Jakobstad region business sector you can find branches from food, machinery and equipment, paper, lyxury yachts and everyday boating through plastic and rubber to metal and abrasives. This also builds a diversified need for different kinds of services, ICT and subcontracting. And naturally jobs in all the services for 50 000 inhabitants in private and public sector. Both vocational skills and higher education is needed.
From the region it´s no more than an hour by plane to metropolises and by train you will be in Helsinki in three hours.
