AIP brings together globally renowned companies with a shared vision of the circular economy

Last week was all about green transformation, sustainability and circularity when EnergyWeek was held in the Vaasa city hall. AIP was in the spotlight together with other excellent European examples from the Netherlands and Denmark.

AIP’s concept was presented by Åsa Björkman, project manager of the Alholmen Circular Economy Platform, to a packed auditorium.

– At the heart of the success is the commitment of industry to work together, regardless of size or sector. From forestry to steel, from shipbuilding to composites, AIP brings together globally renowned companies with a shared vision of the circular economy, said Åsa Björkman.

Co-speakers John Vernooij represented Circulair Friesland from the Netherlands, and H.E. Jakob Nymann-Lindegren, Ambassador of Denmark, highlighted the Danish example of Kalundborg Symbiosis. There were many similarities between AIP and the European examples, but there is also much to learn from each other. For AIP, this year’s EnergyWeek provided valuable visibility and contacts with other industrial parks.
