Concordia and the Jakobstad region’s employment services are gearing up for trade fairs and talent attraction in spring 2026. Shortly after Christmas, the most intensive trade fair period (SWE) of the year will begin. We will be participating in the following trade fairs and hope that many of the region’s companies will also be visible at the recruitment events.
Unemployment in the region is still the lowest in mainland Finland, standing at 5.8% in October. Although it has been slightly higher over the past year and there have been more layoffs, companies need to build their employer branding for the future and growth, as we can see from both statistics and the media. The region want’s growth.
Edu + Job, Tue 20 January 2026 in Kokkola
Concordia and the Employment Area will participate with a joint stand, highlighting the entire region’s labour market and job opportunities. Please let us know if you have any special needs for the fairs!

Aalto Career Fair with the Technology Association 20 January 2026
The Technology Association of the Swedish Nation at Aalto University is organising a career fair on 20 January 2026. Alholmen Industrial Park (AIP) will be participating together with its member companies.
The career fair is an excellent opportunity to connect with students looking for summer jobs or a topic for their thesis.
AIP will participate with a shared table with space for two to three industrial companies. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register by emailing asa.bjorkman@concordia.jakobstad.fi .
Participation is free of charge, but each company is responsible for its own travel expenses.

At Concordia, we continue to maintain our trilingual ‘Work Here’ pages, and if your company is not listed, we will be happy to add you! The same applies if your company’s information on the pages needs to be updated.
We will continue to participate in the digital EURES (European Employment Services) fairs online as a region, and both we and the employment area can help your company get started on the portal if you are interested. This job market portal is definitely an untapped, free opportunity, even if it takes a little time to get started. You can find our regional profile here.
After the Christmas holidays, it will also be time to start planning Come Here 2026 reqruitment fair in July, and the region will also be present at fairs where Visit Jakobstad is active.
