Which company will be named The Equality Company of the Year in Ostrobothnia 2025?

The Equality Company of the Year in Ostrobothnia award will be presented in the summer of 2025 to highlight and reward companies that are actively working towards a more equal and diverse working life. The award will be given to a company that values and fosters equality and equal opportunities and where diversity in the workplace is seen as a genuine asset.

Past winners are Bigro Ab from Närpes (2023) and Oy Gambit Labs Ab from Vaasa (2021).

Why is it good for companies to promote equality and diversity?

Research shows that diverse workplaces are more creative, innovative and productive. A team that combines diverse perspectives can understand more customer segments, review initiatives from more critical viewpoints, and avoid groupthink. This is especially true if the members of the management team and board represent different genders and backgrounds.

As competition for skilled labour intensifies, companies that take these questions into consideration are more attractive employers. What kind of images does our company create in the minds of potential jobseekers? What is our working culture like – does everyone feel part of the work community?

A win or a nomination also provides positive visibility for the company and may improve the employer image.

Who wins and how can our company participate?

Anyone can nominate the Equality Company of the Year in Ostrobothnia. Companies that provide good examples of equal opportunities and/or diversity in working life are encouraged to be nominated. You can nominate your own company, your employer or your partner company, for example. The organisers of the competition will jointly select the winner.
