23 January saw the launch of Real Circular, a Nordic knowledge hub that aims to extend the life of the environment we live in. The idea is to bring together actors who want to change the way we look at the built environment and the driving force is that we need to rethink and reform. Quite simply, to change a branch.
The cluster builds its thinking on three cornerstones: Re-Think, Re-Build and Re-Duce.
A website has been launched at https://www.realcircular.fi/ where you can find out more about Real Circular. If you are in the industry, have thoughts and ideas and want to meet up with others who have the same drive, you can register your interest or your company here (information in Swedish and Finnish)
The Jakobstad Region Development Company Concordia sees the construction and real-estate industry as an important industry for the region which always strive for development. We have a strong presence of our own construction companies in the region and strong subcontractor networks. Larsmo in particular, but also Pedersöre, has an unusually high volume of its own construction companies that build throughout the Jakobstad region, but also outside the region, both nationally and internationally. There are nearly 700 companies in the industry in the region, and the reporting companies have a turnover of over €300,000. The industry reports over 1,400 employees, but upon that many work in their own micro-enterprises.
